Dr. Amal studied at Sultan Qaboos University, Muscat, Oman, where she got her MD in 2004. She pursued her specialty career at OMSB –Oman Medical Specialty Board where she was awarded Psychiatry Specialty Degree in 2012. She was awarded as the best psychiatrist resident on 2011and best psychiatrist trainer on 2019.She obtained her fellowship degree in Consultation Liaison Psychiatry on 2015 from McGill University, Canada, Montreal. From 2016 to 2020 she was working as Consultation liaison psychiatrist at behavioral department in Sultan Qaboos University Hospital in Oman. She is a member at the Oman national psychiatry assessment. Also she is a member at international Psycho-Oncology Society (IPOS) and at Academy of consultation Liaison Psychiatry. Dr. Amal is currently the head of Holistic Care at SQCCCRC, Muscat Oman. Her research interests are in psychological effect of breast cancer patients on the quality of life.
