Training workshop on crisis management concluded at SQCCCRC
In view of the precise specialized nature of the center’s services and to ensure the efficiency in dealing with disasters and the smoothness and continuity of service in all circumstances, Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research Center (SQCCCRC) organized a training workshop on crisis management targeting members of SQCCCRC’s Disaster Management Committee.
The course was presented by a team from the Department of Disaster Management at the University of Bournemouth, UK, and lasted for three days.
Dr. AlWaleed Al Salmi, Head of the Health and Safety Section, said: “The center’s readiness to deal with disasters play pivotal role in ensuring the institution’s flexibility in dealing with various challenges, especially in light of the noticeable climatic changes and other possible disasters that any health institution may face.”
Mr. Hamad Al Abri, the center’s Senior Health, Safety and Environment Supervisor, stressed the importance of continuing training in this field and the necessity of a certified guidelines and plans to deal with disasters in any health institution within the Sultanate of Oman, in coordination with the National Emergency Management Committee.
