SQCCCRC Issues A Patient’s Treatment Journey Handbook
The Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Centre (SQCCCRC) has outlined a systematic handbook that explains the patient’s treatment journey at SQCCCRC, such as the most important services that the patients can benefit from, and valuable instructions and/or directions that will help them during their treatment.
The treatment journey handbook was issued out of the Center’s interest and keenness to prepare patients and their families to give them the greatest degree of readiness to start treatment before their arrival to the Center knowing the directions, procedures and services provided from the time of their admission until their discharge from the Center.
The handbook presents adequate answers to a number of inquiries that a patient may have, such as: how to transfer to the Center to receive treatment; the role of Patient Experience Department in receiving and directing the patient; the importance of knowing the rights and responsibilities of patients and their families before the treatment; how comprehensive care will be provided in the wards/clinics; what the patient should know about the admission departments to ensure his safety and safety of his family members; and, ways to deal with any challenges or obstacles that he may face while he is in the Center.
The handbook also explains how to register in the “patient portal” through the official website of the Center cccrc.gov.om, which allows the patient to follow up his appointments, see the results of his examinations, and the prescriptions that were given to him, in addition to the educational materials that will enable him to deal with his illness and motivate him to recover.
It is worth noting that the handbook refers to a number of files, videos and pages of official website that contain valuable information that benefits patients and their families and facilitates their treatment journey at the Center.
