Prof Roberto Arcioni
Senior Consultant of Interventional Pain Management

Prof. Roberto Arcioni is now a Senior Consultant of Interventional Pain Management at Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research Centre (SQCCCRC). His career as a specialist in Anesthesia and Intensive Care began in 1988 at the University Hospital “Policlinico Umberto I" in Rome. Here he worked initially in the Intensive Care department, then as anesthesiologist in the ENT, General Surgery, Obstetrics, Emergency Surgery and Neurosurgery departments. In 2001 he moved to "Sant'Andrea Hospital" the new hospital of the Sapienza University of Rome, where he initially worked as an anesthesiologist in the Thoracic Surgery and Orthopedics departments, then he built the Interventional Pain Management Unit which he directed and made it to grow as the quantity and quality of the procedures performed until 2022. At the same time as clinical activity he contributed to the training of young anesthesiologists in Interventional Pain Management. My research activity is mainly addressed to pain management and my main interest in the last 15 years has been Bioelectronic Medicine in particular neuromodulation, applied in the field of the Pain Management.
