ALERT (Acute Life-Threatening Events Recognition and Treatment) Course
SQCCCRC in collaboration with Portsmouth Hospital University Trust – UK, has conducted a three-day training on ALERT® course attended by twenty-nine staff of the Center of which, twelve became certified trainers.
ALERT is a system that uses a structured and prioritized patient assessment and management to enable a pre-emptive approach to critical illness. ALERT® teaches staff to recognize and/or identify impending clinical deterioration, management of disordered physiology and other aspects of the delivery of acute care.
The success of the three-day training course is overwhelming that Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Centre has now become a licensed Acute Life-Threatening Events Recognition and Treatment (ALERT) course provider. The course trains multi-profession healthcare team with a systematic approach to recognize, treat, and escalates to a higher level of care when needed to preserve a patient’s life.
SQCCCRC will organize ALERT® course training and certification periodically and welcome all persons in the medical field is across health institutions inside and outside the Sultanate who would be interested to register for the course. The program will focus on the detection and management of threatening events in healthcare institutions.
