Prof. Mansour Al Moundhri is a Professor of Medicine (2011) and a Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist who specializes in the treatment of Gastrointestinal malignancies. His 20+ year career extends across treating patients (SQCCCRC since July 2021 – to date and Consultant Medical Oncologist and Physician at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital – June 1999 to 2021)
Prof. Mansour Al Moundhri spent his years studying overseas (Australia and UK). He finished his Bachelor of Science Degree from the College of Medicine, University of St. Andrews, UK; Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery MB. ChB. at the College of Medicine, University of Glasgow, UK (1990); Medicine (MRCP) degree in the Royal Colleges of Physicians; Medical Oncology (FRACP) from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians; and Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Glasgow, UK.
Prof. Al Moundhri was Dean of the College of Medicine (COM), Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) and led the implementation of the new medical curriculum from June 2008 to June 2011. His research interest focused on studying the genetics and epigenetics in relation to risk predisposition of GI malignancies and breast cancer and outcome determinants of treatment. He continues to participate in the medical students teaching (1999 to this date) and authored and co-authored of about 100+ peer-reviewed publications/journals published in different medical journals (national and international).
Since 2016, Prof. Al Moundhri has been the chairman of establishing and operation committees of SQCCCRC overseeing the organizational, structural, and administrative development of the Center. SQCCCRC has been open operationally with the activation of all departments and in- and out- patient care, research, and teaching.
