Dr. Zahid Al Mandhari is the first board-certified radiation oncologist in Oman, he received his Doctor of Medicine (M. D) (the first of his batch in 1999) from Sultan Qaboos University followed by a residency in Radiation Oncology at University of Alberta in Canada and a fellowship in Breast Cancer from UofA Canada in 2008. He helped establish many new services in Oman, such as the Total Body Irradiation program and the first palliative care program (ESMO Certified). He is currently the head of radiation Oncology at Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research Centre and a member of the GI Program. His main research Interest are in GI & Breast.
He was a key member in establishing Breast AI project at MOH. He is a member of the National Bioethics Committee. He also has an interest in IT, where he headed the digital transformation project at the Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care & Research Center. He is LEAN management certified from GE.
He has published 2 books, and participated in others including publications from WHO and has multiple publications in peer reviewed journals.
